What is Chicken Fritta?

Fritta, meaning “fried” in Italian, is a versatile dish that can be made with various ingredients. These are thin breaded chicken cutlets that are pan-fried until golden. Often served with a generous sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and paired with pasta, salad, or veggies, it’s a complete meal that’s both satisfying and elegant.

Crispy Chicken Fritta – Tips

Pat the chicken dry – It’s the recommended step as the excess moisture will hamper the crispy coatings.

Double dredge – Dip the chicken in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs twice for a thicker, more even crust.

Use the right oil – Choose an oil with a high smoke point, like canola or peanut oil.

Don’t overcrowd the pan – Fry the chicken in batches to ensure even heat distribution and prevent sogginess.

Let it rest – After frying, let the chicken rest on a wire rack to drain excess oil and prevent the crust from becoming mushy.
