Keto Chicken and Waffles – These low carb chicken and waffles are crispy from the outside and tender on the inside. This keto chicken waffle with delicious low carb syrup contains only 4-5 grams of net carbs that you can enjoy on your breakfast.

What Type of Chicken To Use?

You can pretty much use any chicken piece, from boneless to bone-in, but here I am using boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into tenders.

Quick note: If you are using other chicken pieces then you may need to adjust the overall cooking time.

Ingredients to make the crispy fried chicken

  • Boneless, skinless chicken tenders
  • Blanched Almond Flour
  • Paprika
  • Eggs
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Onion powder


  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Take three shallow bowls, place the almond flour in the first one and beaten egg into the other.
  3. In the third bowl, combine onion powder, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place the chicken pieces in almond flour, then dip into the egg mixture, and then coat in the seasoning mixture.
  5. Place the chicken pieces to the baking sheet in a single layer.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through or until chicken is cooked through and crispy on the outside.

How to Make Waffles if You Don’t Have the Waffle Maker?

Yes, you heard it right! You can make waffles without waffle maker, we will be using a grill pan, here’s how to make them:

  • 1 batch of waffle batter
  • Butter


  1. Heat the grill pan on medium heat and let it get really hot.
  2. Brush the pan with butter and then spoon the batter and spread in evenly into a circle (or whatever shape you like)
  3. Reduce heat to low to avoid burning on the outside and cook until it forms bubbles on the top and the edges look dry
  4. Flip the waffle using a spatula and press down (with the back of your spatula) so that your waffle stick to the ridges in the pan
  5. Cook for a few minutes or until done, transfer to a wire rack.

What To Serve with This Keto Chicken and Waffles?

Serve the waffles with the fried chicken tenders and top with your favorite sugar-free maple syrup (like this one) or some mustard. You can also make this a keto chicken and bacon waffles if you add slices of bacon and sandwich with another waffle.

For the Waffles:

  • 2 cups almond flour, blanched
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tablespoon erythritol
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream (or buttermilk)
  • 4 tbsp butter melted
  • 4 large eggs

For the chicken:

  • 2 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast cut into tender pieces
  • 3/4 cup almond flour, blanched
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For Topping:
  • Sugar Free Syrup



For the waffles:

  1. Preheat the waffle maker on high heat.
  2. Whisk together baking powder, flour, and salt in a bowl and whisk eggs, cream, and other ingredients on the other bowl.
  3. Add the wet mixture into the dry and stir until combined.
  4. Lightly grease the waffle maker with non-stick cooking spray.
  5. Pour 1/2 cup of batter and cook for 5 minutes or until steam coming from waffle maker stops or slows down a bit.
  6. Open the waffle maker and remove waffle and repeat the same process for the remaining batter, regreasing the iron in between.
  7. Done!

For the chicken:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 F, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine the almond flour with the seasonings and beat the eggs into another bowl.
  3. Toss the chicken pieces into the almond seasoning mixture, then dip it into the egg mixture and single layer them on the baking sheet.
  4. Place the chicken in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until chicken is crispy and cooked through, flipping once halfway through.
  5. Serve the waffles topped with chicken and drizzle with your favorite sugar-free syrup.
